Our Low Intensity Mental Health Support Groups (LIMHS), funded by Neami National, provides evidence-based psychosocial support as part of a stepped care approach to mental health.
What is Low Intensity Mental Health Support Groups (LIMHS)?
LIMHS provides evidence-based, group mental health support for individuals who may not require intensive intervention but still benefit from structured mental health support. These sessions are free, voluntary, and run in a safe and supportive community setting.
Who can access these groups?
These groups are ideal for people:
- Aged 16-64 living in the Greater Darwin or Katherine Big Rivers Region
- Not currently accessing NDIS or intensive mental health support
- Wanting to learn practical tools for mental wellbeing in a group setting
What to expect
Each group is designed to:
- Help participants build coping strategies and resilience
- Reduce feelings of isolation through shared experiences
- Increase confidence, connection, and mental health literacy and education
Group features include:
- Facilitated sessions using evidence-based approaches
- A safe and welcoming space to build new skills and support one another
- Focus on strengths, self-care, and early intervention
