Parent & Guardian Support
Building skills for the whole family
Our Child and Family Wellbeing Service offers free support for parents, carers and families across Palmerston and Litchfield, Katherine and the Big Rivers Region, and Gunbalanya. When we're working with a child or young person, the support often works best when the people around them are supported too, so this is practical, warm help for families, shaped around their own kids and their own way of doing things.
That might mean building confidence in the everyday moments, learning new ways to understand and respond to a child's emotions, or simply connecting with other parents going through similar things. When a family feels steadier and more supported, that steadiness reaches the children at the heart of it.
What we offer
Support is shaped around each family, and might include:
- Parenting and connection support - practical skills and gentle strategies for the everyday moments, shaped around your family rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Support alongside your child's - working with the whole family, so the child and the people around them are moving in the same direction.
- A steadier home life - support with communication, routines and the day-to-day, so home feels calmer and more connected.
- Connection to other supports - a hand to reach other services when they'd help, from health care to community programs.

"My daughter has been seeing TeamHEALTH since she was about 6 months old. They worked with me to make a plan to look after all the aspects of my life like my physical wellbeing, financial, social and my mental health.
The impact of TeamHEALTH on my daughter and myself has ensured we have a better overall family life with support systems in place. TeamHEALTH have provided advice, support and given us hope for the future and I have more confidence. They will help however they can, they won’t judge you and are on your side to support you. You don’t have to struggle by yourself."
