Wellbeing and Recovery - Remote

Empowering Communities Through Connection.

Wellbeing and Recovery – Remote is the new name for our Psychosocial Support Program (PSP Remote). Same program, new name.

Life in a remote community carries its own strengths and its own pressures. When things feel hard, having support nearby from people who know the community and take the time to understand can make all the difference.

Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, or for someone you care about or support in your work, you don’t have to work it out alone.

Wellbeing and Recovery – Remote is a free service for people living with a mental health condition or dealing with ongoing challenges that affect daily life, relationships, confidence, connection or wellbeing. Grounded in Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB), support is shaped around what matters to each person, helping them build on their strengths, stay connected to community, and take practical steps towards the life they want.

We work alongside local stakeholders, Elders and community services, so that people feel culturally safe, listened to and supported in ways that make sense for them and their community.

Where We Work

We deliver one-on-one and group-based support across remote and regional areas of the Northern Territory: Jabiru | Gunbalanya | Maningrida | Wadeye | Daly River

What We Offer

The service can look different for each person. Support may happen one-on-one, in groups, or through connection with other local services, depending on what the person needs and what feels right for them.

  • One-on-one support: personalised, culturally safe support to strengthen emotional wellbeing and work towards personal goals.
  • Building life and social skills: practical support with the things that keep daily life steady and connected.
  • Connecting with services: help you to find and reach the right care and support.

Culturally Grounded Group Activities

We run regular group sessions for Daluk (women) and Bininj (men) in funded communities, designed to foster healing, connection and purpose. These include:

  • Cultural practices: weaving, pandanus collection, wood carving, sewing, hunting and fishing
  • Yarning circles
  • Mental health education and awareness activities
  • Social and emotional wellbeing sessions
