Wellbeing and Recovery
Practical, one-on-one support, shaped around each person and what matters most to them.
Wellbeing and Recovery brings together what used to be our Recovery Assistance Program (RAP) and Psychosocial Support Program (PSP Urban), so there's now one simple way in.
People come to us for all sorts of reasons, and at all sorts of moments. It might be about living with a mental health condition, or navigating a period that’s been difficult: a stressful situation, a loss, or a big change that’s knocked things sideways. Some people reach out in the thick of something complex; others when they can just feel things starting to slip.
Whether it’s for yourself, or for someone you care about or support in your work, no one has to work it out alone.
Wellbeing and Recovery is free, one-on-one support for adults across the Top End. Individuals in the program work with a Mental Health Recovery Worker who takes the time to understand what matters to them. Participants set their own goals and build a practical plan to work towards them, one that’s reviewed and adjusted as things change.
Much of this support happens out in the community rather than in an office. We can meet you somewhere comfortable, head to an appointment together, or go along to a group, so that building confidence and connection becomes part of everyday life.
What we offer
Support is shaped around each person and might include:
- One-on-one recovery planning: Working with a Mental Health Recovery Worker to set personal goals and build a plan to reach them.
- Building everyday skills: Practical support with the things that keep daily life steady, like managing stress, communicating, budgeting and keeping a routine.
- Understanding mental health and wellbeing: New ways to make sense of what’s happening and to care for mental health and wellbeing day-to-day.
- Connecting with services and supports: Help to find and reach the right services, from health care and employment services to community programs and specialised supports.
- Getting involved in community life: Support to build connections, join a group or activity, and feel like you belong to the community around you.
