Head of Property

TeamHEALTH has been supporting people living with mental illness across the Northern Territory for more than 30 years. We're a leading provider of mental health and wellbeing services across the Top End — and the properties we manage are the foundation that makes everything we do possible.

We're looking for an experienced and driven Head of Property to take ownership of our diverse property portfolio and lead a dedicated team in delivering safe, compliant, and well-maintained spaces for our tenants, staff and community. This is a leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for the strategic and operational management of TeamHEALTH's property portfolio — spanning 36 community housing units and houses and 14 commercial offices and buildings across the Top End.

You'll lead all aspects of property and asset management, ensure ongoing compliance with the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH), and oversee a team of Property Coordinators. This role sits at the intersection of property expertise, financial literacy and community purpose.

Duties include:

  • Asset management, including purchases, lease negotiation and management, maintaining key registers and furnishings
  • Overseeing tenancy management functions including rent and debt collection, inspections and tenancy exits (including evictions)
  • Security/Incident management
  • Emergency and business continuity plans
  • National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) accreditation and reporting
  • Property portfolio includes 36 community housing units / houses and 14 commercial offices / buildings
  • Lead the Property team, including performance management, providing supervision and training

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong financial management skills including budget development, expenditure monitoring, and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in property, asset, or facilities management across a diverse and geographically dispersed portfolio
  • Sound knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (NT) and relevant property and tenancy legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams and work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports for senior leadership and the Board
  • Cultural competency and the ability to work effectively with First Nations people, CALD populations, and people with lived experience of mental illness

Benefits:

  • An attractive Level 6 SCHADS Award salary package, with the opportunity for above award renumeration for the right candidate
  • Salary packaging opportunities (including novated leasing) of up to $15 900 per annum, in addition to meal and entertainment benefits
  • 5 weeks' annual leave with leave loading
  • The opportunity for a compressed working fortnight (working 76 hours over 9 days)

It is a requirement for this position that candidates have or are willing to obtain National Police Certificate that was issued less than two years ago, a current Driver’s License, NDIS Worker Screening and Orientation Module Certificate.

TeamHEALTH recognises the value of experience in all facets of life and work and encourages individuals with a lived experience of mental illness to apply. First Nations applicants and those with a culturally and linguistically diverse background are welcomed.

Please note applications should include a resume and cover letter addressing the Essential Criteria, in order to be considered for this position. The full position description can be found attached to this advertisement.

Applications close 19 April 2026.
