Executive Manager

TeamHEALTH is a for-purpose organisation dedicated to supporting people living with mental health challenges across the Top End of the Northern Territory. We are the only non-faith-based, grassroots mental health organisation focused solely on the NT. Our deep connection to the Territory means we understand the unique needs of our communities — from urban centres to remote regions.

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Manager translates TeamHEALTH’s strategy into operational plans for their portfolio and ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally inclusive programs across the stepped care model, informed by lived and living experience.

While accountable for a defined portfolio, Executive Managers work collaboratively across the organisation to achieve enterprise-wide objectives and bring broad senior leadership experience with deep expertise in one or more of TeamHEALTH’s service areas.

The Executive Manager will be required to regularly travel to, and work from, other locations, including remote areas. This may involve overnight or extended absences from their home base. The role is full-time (76 hours per fortnight) and offers well above award conditions for this position in our senior leadership team, including an attractive salary package, flexible working arrangements, generous annual leave and relocation assistance, as outlined below.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of a Tertiary qualification in mental health, health, community services, or a relevant discipline plus five (5) years Senior management experience in role(s) relevant to portfolio
  • Demonstrated capability to operate and think strategically displaying strong business acumen and a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple accountabilities and a record of successfully managing competing priorities under pressure and within tight timeframes
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to interact and engage with a diverse range of people and build professional relationships that add value to TeamHEALTH’s purpose
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop staff to ensure they perform and reach their full potential
  • Demonstrated ability in working with a diverse range of people including First Nations people, Culturally and Linguistically diverse (CALD) populations and people with lived experience of mental health conditions
  • Working knowledge of legislation and accreditation standards of relevance to portfolio, and – for program delivery functions – demonstrated understanding of early intervention approaches, psychosocial rehabilitation and the recovery model in the mental health services field

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Translate TeamHEALTH’s strategy into operational plans and deliver meaningful outcomes across a defined portfolio of programs
  • Work collaboratively across portfolios to achieve shared, organisation-wide goals
  • Lead high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally inclusive services that meet accreditation and funding requirements
  • Manage portfolio budgets responsibly, contributing to enterprise-wide sustainability and impact
  • Drive performance through clear KPIs, strong governance and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Lead service innovation and growth, including new program development and securing funding through grants and tenders
  • Build trusted partnerships with stakeholders, communities and sector leaders
  • Represent TeamHEALTH with integrity at external forums and events
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams, modelling TeamHEALTH values and prioritising staff wellbeing
  • Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation and reporting of service quality, participant outcomes and lived experience feedback

It is a TeamHEALTH requirement that candidates have or are willing to obtain National Police Certificate that was issued less than two years ago, a current Driver’s Licence, an NDIS Worker Screening and Orientation Module Certificate.
