Coordinator, Housing - 12 Week Fixed Term Position

TeamHEALTH has been walking alongside people living with mental illness in the Northern Territory for over 30 years. With grass roots in community and driven by purpose, we believe every person deserves to lead a full and valued life; and that safe, stable housing is where that journey begins.

Our TeamCONNECT Brokerage program is a targeted support initiative designed to reduce financial and practical barriers associated with entering or sustaining housing. It offers brokerage assistance for people who are experiencing housing insecurity, at risk of homelessness, or facing major cost-of-living pressures associated with maintaining their housing. The support is delivered for people living across the Greater Darwin and Big Rivers regions, and offers needs tested financial and practical assistance.

In this fast paced, high volume role, the Coordinator will work alongside the current TeamCONNECT program in managing a significant referral pipeline, assessing the needs of participants swiftly and with care, and providing brokerage related support in a timely, person centred manner. This is an opportunity for a Coordinator who excels in a busy environment, brings strong organisational skills and is energised, rather than overwhelmed, by complexity and volume.

Duties include:

  • Receiving, triaging, and actioning a high volume of referrals for homelessness brokerage support
  • Assessing individual needs and determining appropriate brokerage responses including crisis accommodation funding and connection to financial assistance
  • Collaborating closely with the existing Housing Coordinator to complement and strengthen service delivery across the team
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date case notes and documentation in line with program and funding requirements
  • Building and sustaining relationships with key community organisations, housing providers, and government stakeholders
  • Identifying barriers and gaps in brokerage pathways and contributing to continuous service improvement

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering services to people experiencing homelessness and/or complex needs including mental health, AOD, or domestic and family violence
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a high volume of referrals
  • Strong assessment skills and confidence making timely, informed decisions
  • A collaborative approach to complement and strengthen an existing team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Please this is a short term, 12 week opportunity with full time hours. The opportunity for either a fixed term or casual contract is available. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, so speed of application is key!

It is a requirement for this position that candidates have or are willing to obtain National Police Certificate that was issued less than two years ago, a current Driver’s License, NDIS Worker Screening and Orientation Module Certificate.

TeamHEALTH recognises the value of experience in all facets of life and work and encourages individuals with a lived experience of mental illness to apply. First Nations applicants and those with a culturally and linguistically diverse background are welcomed.

TeamHEALTH offers above award conditions including 5 weeks annual leave on a pro rata basis, salary packaging and a friendly and flexible work environment.

Please note applications should include a resume and cover letter addressing the Essential Criteria, in order to be considered for this position. The full position description can be found attached to this advertisement.

Applications close 19 April 2026.
