Mental Health Recovery Worker

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Darwin

Reporting to the relevant Team Leader, the Mental Health Recovery Worker provides centre based or outreach support to participants using the psychosocial rehabilitation framework, with a focus on supports that are person centred, recovery focused, strengths based, timely and culturally appropriate.

The Mental Health Recovery Worker will develop, in consultation with the participant and where appropriate, other key stakeholders, an Individual Recovery Plan (IRP) to assist in achieving personal goals and positive outcomes for mental health, physical health and wellbeing. Supports provided will assist participants to maintain and increase their independence and live valued lives within the community.

Possessing qualifications in a relevant community services, mental health or related area the successful applicant will have experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness and an understanding of the recovery model and psychosocial rehabilitation.

This position is a fixed term contract up to 30 June 2022 and is open to applicants interested in full or part time hours.

Peer Educator

Position Type: Part Time

Location: Darwin

The Two-Way Mentoring Program aims to increase the economic and community participation of individuals who experience psychosocial disability. The program has two components:

  • The provision of training and mentorship to non-mental health organisations so they can best attract and support individuals with a psychosocial disability.
  • The provision of peer-led mentoring to individuals with psychosocial disability who wish to be employed and who are facing barriers to accessing existing career and work placement pathways.

Reporting to the Mental Health Supports Manager, the Peer Educator will participate in the collaborative development of resources and processes for the Two-Way Mentoring Program as well as provide support and mentorship for the participants involved in the Program.

This position is part time, 30.40 hours per week, and a fixed term contract up to 28 February 2023.

Child and Family Wellbeing Worker

Position Type: Part Time - hours negotiable

Location: Katherine

Through the Child and Family Wellbeing Service early intervention and other supports are provided through community-based initiatives to support children and young people who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing a mental illness, to improve their wellbeing and enable them to better participate in their communities and reach their full potential.

Reporting to and working closely with the Team Leader, the Child and Family Wellbeing Worker will deliver strength-based case management and activities to children, young people and families in line with program guidelines. Outreach support is also provided to assist in the development and implementation of participant centred Family Action Plans.

Team Leader, Rural and Remote

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Katherine

Within the Katherine and Gunbalanya regions TeamHEALTH deliver programs to Children, Families and Adults.

Reporting to the Mental Health Supports Manager the Team Leader provides overall management and leadership of services delivered in the Katherine and Gunbalanya Regions. They will work with the Manager to develop, implement and deliver the services in the target areas. The Team Leader will provide leadership, supervision and mentoring to the staff located in Katherine and Gunbalanya.
