Our Name
The name of the incorporated Association is the Top End Association for Mental Health Incorporated, also known as TEAMhealth.
Our Objectives
The objects of TEAMhealth are:
- To foster better understanding and promote good mental health in the Northern Territory community;
- To develop and maintain a range of prevention and mental health support services.
Our Mission
To make a significant contribution to the provision of quality, life enhancing mental health services.
Our Vision
A community that understands mental health and the impacts of mental illness and is committed to all people leading full and valued lives.
TEAMhealth in 2016
By 2016, TEAMhealth will:
- Have consolidated and improved program areas building on its strengths in recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation to address social deficits. It will also have extended its capacity and capability to deliver prevention, promotion and education programs;
- Be a strong and healthy organisation with the structures systems and relationships to ensure quality, safety and accountability for clients and staff and to contribute to the mental health sector and the community at large;
- Play an active advocacy role engaging, supporting and working in partnerships to develop and initiate new ideas with the government and the Territory community to achieve its vision;
- Have achieved additional ongoing funding sources other than traditional Government grants to allow the expansion of services to our people;
- Have achieve a significant increase in membership;
- Have focused its capabilities and resources on developing and expanding its services in the Top End of the Northern Territory; and
- Have implemented a strategy for the most effective utilisation of assets with oversight to expand those assets in the appropriate areas in support of program effectiveness.

Our Core Business
Our core business spans three areas:
- Provision of high quality prevention and mental health support services;
- Promoting broader community understanding of mental health issues and developing professionals in mental health service provision;
- Advocacy with Governments, business and the broader community for the mental health sector and its people
Key Objectives and performance Measures
To focus on developing services in the Top End of the Northern Territory.
Objectives:
- To achieve 15% of total income from corporate (non Government) sources within 5 years;
- To establish a staff climate survey in year 1 and then to improve staff satisfaction and engagement to 70% within 5 years. The survey will include an assessment of the Boards role;
- To have implemented mechanisms for both client feedback on service delivery and support and client input to the development and/or improvement of those services within 5 years;
- To have achieved a membership of 200 within 5 years with an immediate doubling in next 12 months;
- To identify within 12 months the potential for extension of programs and services through the assessment of new opportunities and the extension of existing programs within the Top End; and
- To establish a process to review the policies of the Board over the next 12 months by presenting a specific policy review to the Board every 2 months.
