Long Term Residential Manse

The Manse is a specialist long-term residential program, designed to support people in a home-like environment that experience severe mental health issues and are unable to live independently in the community. The service provides a person centred approach that encourages independence and promotes recovery. At The Manse we welcome diversity and are sensitive to individual cultural and religious beliefs.

What support will I receive as a resident of The Manse?

The overall aim of The Manse is to promote and maximise recovery, and encourage independent living. At The Manse we will work with you to:

  • Gain the confidence and skills you need to live independently in the community
  • Develop a recovery plan to assist you to achieve your personal goals
  • Develop your social and personal skills and increase your personal belonging

How does the program work?

The Manse has a team of rehabilitation workers who will work with you, one on one, to enhance your daily living skills and develop your wellbeing goals. Living at the Manse will provide you with the opportunity to develop relationships, practice social skills and develop a sense of personal responsibility.

As part of your individually planned support and care program, you will be actively involved in the running of the home. As a resident of The Manse you will be encourage to participate in:

  • Cooking
  • Cleaning
  • Shopping
  • Looking after your own personal care
  • The running of the house through attending house meetings
  • Fitness and exercise activities
  • Daily programs

Where is the service provided?

Our program is provided within Darwin, however is accessible to all individuals located across the Top End of the Northern Territory.

Who is the service available to?

The Manse Residential Program supports men and women aged over 18 years who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and are case managed by TEMHS (Top End Mental Health Services).
